the woman behind ctwb

Colour the World Better was founded on the conviction that access to education should never be determined by circumstance. Literacy has an immense influence on the opportunities available to a young person, shaping their ability to communicate, participate and determine their own future. I established CTWB to help make meaningful educational opportunities more accessible, developing programmes that are deliverable, sustainable and attainable for young people, regardless of their circumstances. My vision is to build a global initiative that brings this ambition into practice, creating opportunities for young people to learn, express themselves and realise their potential.

Art for Writing

Art for Writing is a literacy-focused programme designed to help young people develop their writing, communication and self-expression through engaging, accessible activities. By using creativity as a tool for learning, the programme encourages young people to explore ideas, build confidence and discover the power of their own voices. Designed to be adaptable to different educational contexts, it provides schools and learning centres with a flexible letter exchange building connection and stories across the globe.

Teacher to Teacher

Teacher to Teacher brings educators together across borders to exchange knowledge, share experiences and explore new approaches to teaching and learning. Through international collaboration, virtual meet-ups and teacher-led sessions, the programme creates space for professional dialogue and mutual learning. By connecting educators across different contexts, CTWB aims to foster a more collaborative global education community in which ideas and experience can be shared beyond geographical boundaries.

The Vision

CTWB is working towards a sustainable, internationally connected model of educational engagement, bringing together schools, educators and partners to make learning opportunities more accessible to young people. The ambition building CTWB is to grow thoughtfully, build lasting partnerships and develop an approach that can reach beyond individual classrooms to create meaningful, lasting impact.

Fostering a shared sense of humanity

Our journey began through connections with young people and communities in Gaza, whose partnership remains an important part of our story. They remind us why this work matters: because every child deserves the chance to learn, to dream and to imagine a future filled with possibility. Education is more than the knowledge we share; it is a bridge between people, a means of understanding one another, and a reminder that, despite all that may divide us, there is so much that brings us together. This is the humanity we hope to foster, in every partnership and every young life we reach.

Our approach centres on practical delivery, sustainable programme development and the potential for long-term impact, creating opportunities for purposeful collaboration between the corporate sector and the communities education has the power to transform. We welcome conversations with organisations seeking to build thoughtful, lasting partnerships that align their social impact ambitions with a shared commitment to a more equitable future.
